We’ve pioneered the implementation and exchange of large-scale pathology and radiology reporting, electronic referrals, status updates, specialist letters and discharge summaries using HealthLink’s secure messaging network, to more Hospitals than any other organisation.

As a result, we boast contracts with 7 of the 8 Australian states and territories, several national hospital and health service providers, and continue to deploy new innovative ways for health organisations to exchange private patient information with the rest of the health system.

Transferring patient care between providers is one of the most critical yet difficult to master processes in the health system. It’s also one of the most potentially frustrating. There’s nothing worse than delay and poor information getting in the way of delivering quality healthcare treatment.

To combat this, HealthLink has created an eReferral SmartForm that is accepted by a large number of state and private hospitals, healthcare organisations and providers.

HealthLink eReferrals are tightly integrated into Australia’s leading GP and Specialist clinical systems (Best Practice, Medical Directory, and Genie), and are therefore readily accessible by the majority of hospital referrers.  There is no need for GPs to learn new systems, download programs or widgets, or update templates.  SmartForms mandate the pre-population of patient data, support attachments, and facilitate the secure and synchronous transfer of patient referrals into hospitals.

SmartForm Technology is helping facilitate the secure and synchronous transfer of patient referrals. Many Statewide and National SmartForms are now under development. Doctors using Best Practice Premier, Medical Director Clinical and Genie Solutions software can get access to SmartForms related to their geographic location.
